To finalize state’s response to the proposed central legislation on Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime, a meeting of the Cabinet-Sub-Committee (CSC) headed by Minister for Finance & Ladakh Affairs, Abdul Rahim Rather was held here yesterday afternoon. The meeting discussed in detail the proposed legislation. “However, the meeting remained inconclusive and the issue would be discussed in another meeting of the CSC next week to finalize its report which will be placed before the Cabinet,” an official statement said. Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Taj Moh-ud-din and Minister for Health & Horticulture, Sham Lal Sharma, who are members of the CSC, attended the meeting. Principal Secretary, Finance Department, M I Khandy, Law Secretary, G H Tantray and Commissioner Commercial Taxes, Gaznafer Hussain were also present in the meeting.
