Companies may've to reveal monthly performance data first to bourses

The capital market regulator is planning to make it mandatory for companies to disclose monthly sales, turnover or production figures first to stock exchanges before giving the data to industry associations or the media, said two people familiar with the matter. The thinking among officials of the Securities & Exchange Board of India (Sebi) is that filing these reports with exchanges will facilitate 'uniform dissemination' of such data, which has a bearing on stock prices, to all investors.
